Art Title:	“SWALLOW THIS.”
Art Description:	Art Walk Central 2023 Artist Statement Artist: Edward EvansTitle: “SWALLOW THIS.”One year ago, I was unable to participate in Art Walk Central due to a diagnosis of Congestive Heart Failure and Coronary Artery Disease. I missed it! I missed the process of creation from initial concept to final creation. I missed the social aspect of looking at other peoples work and discussing it, and vice versa.Since then, I have swallowed/consumed countless numbers of prescription pills and attended numerous doctor appointments with too many Doctor names I can’t remember. The prescriptions I take (some for the rest of my life) make me: angry, frustrated, short tempered sometimes, irritable, not confused but distracted or unfocused. My wife calls it “Cranky”. I don’t like feeling this way.The residue: orange Rx bottles, about one years’ worth of pill bottles, are cast in resin shaped like a giant pill hence the title “Swallow This.”, it may also resemble a vintage fuel pump (as it is these prescriptions that keep my heart going), a giant lens to get a new perspective on life, or perhaps an “all day sucker”.
