Artist Statement
Holly first discovered her affinity for clay while studying at Alma College. In 2014, Holly graduated Cum Laude with Departmental Honors, receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ceramics. She furthered her studies through the Post-Baccalaureate program at Studio Art Centers International in Florence, Italy and received her Master of Fine Arts in Ceramics from Tulane University in 2019. Passionate to share her knowledge of the science and magic of clay, Holly has held Studio Technician, Teaching Assistant, and Ceramic Instructor positions at several collegiate institutions, latest being Grand Valley State University. Her work has been exhibited in Oregon, California, Louisiana, New York, Michigan, Ohio, and Tennessee. Recently, Holly has expanded her practice to incorporate layers of cut paper with cast light and shadow.
